All Things Altered Blog Hop!

Hello friends!  I am glad that you made it all the way to my blog for the "All things Altered Blog Hop" Hosted by Pam from Scrapbook Flair!  If you chanced on this, well, you are in for a treat!  Feel free to hop back to the beginning and start over.  I will have a full list of the blogs at the end of my post.  (Also there is a freebie..so read all the way to the bottom!!)
We have some lovely sponsors that have donated some product to a lovely winner.  A special thank you to:
I have been working on this project for quite some time. I didn't really know in the beginning what I wanted to accomplish with it, but when all is said and done a little bits of me and private memories are included.  I plan on adding more things as time goes on.  Because...life goes on.
I used a Tim Holtz Configurations box and covered it in paper using the Ranger decoupage medium.  I added some fun hardware for corners and legs.  Most of the hardware came from the Tim Holtz line.  Love the touch they added.

Each little space holds a memory for me.  The mini tea set is in memory of my mother. She always told me that tea will taste much better you drink it from a pretty cup. The little pinecone was a from a walk I took in a forest outside of a little village south of Stockholm, Sweden.
The rock was something I picked up when I visited Helsinki, Finland. The other spaces hold special memories about people and places dear to me.
I hope you liked this project I made to share.  Please leave me a comment if you do and I would be so happy if you decided to become a follower today.  Your feedback really makes my day.
Most of the items and embellishments used on this project came from my 2 favorite online stores.
As a very special bonus, if you do become a follower today and leave me a comment that you did, I will send every person a free digi stamp from Shelley Bean Stamps.  Be sure to leave me your email address so that I know where to send it!  If you are already a follower, that's wonderful!  Just leave a comment and you can have the free digi too.  This digi is brand new and never before released.  It will only be free during this hop June 29-30th!
New Digi!  "Shopping Sheila"
Please hop back to the very beginning of this hop to see how you can win prizes from our fabulous sponsors.
And once again, here is the full line up!

Doodle-Deux

Paper Patch Crafts has an ADORABLE line now available at their store.  It's from Prima Marketing and the line is called Doodle-Deux.  It is so fun to work with!  You are going to love it.  I wanted to share a few cards I made recently using this line along with some fun Mo Manning images I had colored recently.  Whatcha think?  Please run over to Paper Patch Crafts and nab these while they are still available.
I love how cute this paper is!  All of the coordinating embellishments really add a lot to your finished projects too.  Image from Mo's Digital Pencil

I used the same image from Mo's Digital Pencil.  As you can see, even using the same product line you can still get a lot of versatility!

Paper Patch Craft Challenge&

There is another fun challenge happening over at Paper Patch Crafts.  This one runs through the 10th, so there is still time to play.  There is a sketch, and the theme is Travel related.  Kind of different.  So put on your thinking caps and let's get to playing.  There is a prize that's going to be given away, as always...and that makes it all the more fun.  Check out all the details over here.

Here is what I created.  I went into some old paper stash...this is K&Company's "Life's Journey".  I am not really sure how readily available this paper would be because I have owned it for a couple years already.  It sure is nice paper though! More details on other supplies to follow:

Most of the embellishments are available over at Paper Patch Crafts.  Check it out!!

Ya Gotta Have Friends

Once upon a time, in another lifetime, I lived in Arizona.  I lived there for 10 years and met the coolest and bestest friend ever.  Her name is Mary, and when I moved away it broke both our hearts because we are like sisters. (but with out all the sibling fighting).  Mary and I have tried to keep in touch, but life and responsibilities always gets in the way.  Well, we were able to make a pact lately that we are going to try harder to get together and keep our friendship alive and kicking.  So, awhile back she flew out here to Boise and stayed and we had the time of our lives!  (My husband later said it sounded like a teenage slumber party back in my craft room...and that's exactly what it was!)  We hit all the craft stores in Boise and even a few in Nampa while she was here and spent way too much money!  Over a couple evenings we decided we would create mini-albums to celebrate our friendship.  I wasn't smart enough to take pictures before she left with hers, but I have mine to share with you today.  We both fell in love with all the coolio Tim Holtz products out there.  It's especially fun when you have someone to share the products with because then you get more variety!  Here are some pics, and I will explain as I go along.
The theme for the album is all things related to us and our friendship.  We also handmade all the flowers on the covers.

The binding was made with the coolest stuff.  Glassine paper!  I didn't know how neat this stuff was.  When you crinkle it up it takes on a leather like texture.  If you want to make a flower or punch with it, be sure to make the cuts before you crinkle!

Throughout the book we added poems and quotes that meant something to us.  My husband (the poet) even wrote us a little poem to adhere to the front cover.

Each page had a mini pocket and tag.  On the larger tags we will add poem, quotes and photos of our fun times together.
This is sure to be a keepsake with plenty of room for more photos and memories of upcoming adventures together.  I hope this inspires you to create something with your best friend and that albums can be more than just photo books.  Journal your memories!  You will love looking back and remembering.

Scrapalicious Challenge Time Again

It's that time of the year for graduations.  At Scrapalicious our challenge is to create something using a Graduation theme.  As many may already know, my eldest son recently received his Bachelor in Business at Boise State University.  I decided for my project I would create a page layout using some of the cool papers and stickers available over at Scrapalicious USA.
I decided to keep it sort of clean and simple.  It's easy to get a bit crazy when you have all the cool stickers and embellishments to play with, but since he is a guy, he certainly wouldn't appreciate glitter on his page!

Playing Catch Up!

Happy Tuesday!  Happy for me because I am home from work today and taking some time to show you some projects I have worked on lately and want to share.  Keep an eye out over the next few days as I work on playing catch up!

Today I thought I would share a page I made a few weeks back for a challenge I was in.  This is a layout I did of my son Trey when he was a toddler.  Now he is 16!  My, how time does fly!
It's a simple page really.  But, I thought I would share.  I still admit to not being a very good scrapbooker...but I keep trying.  I think I lack patience with my pages and make them either too simplistic or too over the top.  I can't seem to find that balance required that makes for a great page.  Oh well.  Someday many years from now someone may look at them and at least admit, "she gave it an effort!"  :)  One thing I wanted to mention that hasn't occurred in a long time....I am posting this after the challenge was over.  You know what that means?  That means for once I am just sharing a project without promoting any store and no product endorsement. I want to try and do more of those posts.  It was a realization the other day that readers really don't get to know anything about "me" other than a product endorser unless I share.  So, here I am sharin'!
